Hey I'm Dr. Kojo Sarfo
I'm a Mental Health Advocate, spreading awareness
breaking stigma using Social Media.
Growing up, I realized that my most fulfiling moments were when I was able to provide value to others or help the less fortunate. Ironically, at that time my family didn’t have much, but in elementary school I would still help other kids with developmental disabilities and those with difficulty speaking English. Fast forward years later, I still have a heart for people. I began to learn more about mental health and the suffering of many people. I was empowered to not only better myself but to help people around me.
I started working in the mental health field as a nurse and ultimately received my doctorate degree in Psychiatric Nursing Practice. Along the way, I also created a clothing brand, Abrantie & Signora, and partnered with Mental Health America to spread positivity and awareness about mental health.
This book is about my journey from a struggling student to a board-certified psychiatric mental-health nurse practitioner. I share my story and my desire to promote mental health awareness with the hope that it would cause a ripple effect among those who have the same passion.
“You Already Won” is a story of hope and inspiration. In this book, the author highlights key events that have shaped his journey as an individual, healthcare provider, and mental health advocate. This story illustrates the importance of believing in yourself, being kind to all persons, and remaining patient while searching for your purpose in life. Doing these three things, the author believes, ultimately leads to a winning mentality.
Working together for your better life
My mission has been to make quality life coaching affordable and available to anyone who strives to live their ideal life. Part consultant, part motivational speaker, part therapist and part rent-a-friend, coaches work with managers, entrepreneurs, and just plain folks, helping them define and achieve their goals — career, personal, or most often, both.
MY TIKTOK JOURNEY
I create videos to promote mental health awareness. My videos are normally educational/humorous and revolve around educational tips and advice to help people live mental healthier lives.
I started creating when I heard GaryVee mention Tik Tok last year and I nearly gave up until my brothers told me that the majority of their classmates watch Tik Tok more than they pay attention to their teachers. At that moment, I knew I had the opportunity to reach a demographic that would be hard to do on any other platform.
I create for two reasons – to give myself a creative outlet and express different talents outside of the hospital and to also remind people that they are not alone if they are struggling mentally, physically, or emotionally.
